CPFED & IOAI Kazakhstan — an olympiad promo about not being alone
Somewhere in a quiet room, a student is writing code, sure they're the only one. Our promo film for an international AI olympiad shows they're not.
Talent often starts out alone: a quiet room, a screen, an idea with no one to share it with. For CPFED and IOAI Kazakhstan's international AI programming olympiad, we turned that feeling into a story. Our characters live in different corners of the world, building and coding, convinced they're on their own — until the olympiad brings them into one hall. We invented every character ourselves: personalities, outfits, bedrooms, down to the interface on a young coder's screen. The locations are real. We showed Astana through its newly launched LRT, matching every detail of the train, from the number of cars to the headlight pattern. Footage and images were generated in Seedance 2.0, Nano Banana 2, Nano Banana Pro and ChatGPT Image 2, the script and storyboard shaped with Claude, and the music and sound design composed by hand. In six weeks, a film made for social media and the website became the one screened at the olympiad's opening, attended by the President of Kazakhstan.
